In Turgutlu, polyculture agriculture is carried out thanks to the presence of fertile soils of the Gediz Basin and the positive effects of the Mediterranean climate. Seedless grapes, especially tomatoes, wheat, cherries, peaches, cotton, plums and olives are the main products produced. As table grape production becomes important, Highland viticulture is developing. The biggest export item is”sultaniye seedless raisins". Cherries and figs are also exported. With the influence of canning factories in the district, tomato, pepper and cucumber cultivation gained importance. With the decrease in the number of olive trees and olive fields, olive agriculture has lost its former importance. Livestock has gained great momentum in recent years. With the increase of animal husbandry, the production of forage crops such as silage corn, vetch, barley increased.
The most important tourist resort of the district is Urganlı Hot Springs. Hot Springs with Tether,water carbon dioxide and bicarbonate. Its temperature ranges from 62 to 67 degrees Celsius. Evliya Çelebi has given this spa a place in his travelogue with praiseworthy words.
